What are the chances that the government is going to discontinue the Sarbanes-Oxley Act?

Some of my friends are saying that the government is going to stop the Sarbanes-Oxley Act because it isn't business-friendly and it is costing companies a lot of money to do business in the US. Is this true?

There isn't a chance in HELL that SOX will get repealed. Any legislator that supports this is going to be painted as being in the pocket of the Enron's of the world bent on fleecing the american public. Such a politician would surely lose the next election.

On the other hand, there is some talk that some of the provisions of SOX could be softened in the near future. Many people think SOX is overkill and is an unnecessary burden on public companies in some respects.
