What would life be like in a totalitarian government?

I'm doing a project in my global class where I have to make up a story about a fictional person's life in a totalitarian government but I'm stuck. Can anyone help me?

You need to read 1984 (Nineteen Eighty Four). It's a novel by George Orwell about a worker who is among those who changes written history to suit the needs of Big Brother. This is where we hear the words double-speak.

It's a lot like the Bush administration, although the Bush administration often wrote the press releases before the events (like 9/11).

Complete control over an individuals life by the government. Here is a site with many definitions.

If you haven't left your project until the last minute and still have some time, read George Orwell's Animal Farm. It is a short book but will explain everything from an individuals experience.

It would be like living in Saudi Arabia under the ever-controlling Taliban. The Taliban forbid women from going outside without a male, women cannot show any part of their bodies, but their eyes, and women cannot have jobs. As well, male and female have strict curfews.

You should research Saudi Arabia and/or the Taliba,

Good Luck on your project.

YOu do not have certain civil rights. For example you are not allowed to speak against the governement in a negative manner. And you will not have the right to a fair-trial.

North Korea, Nazi German, Fascist Spain, Fascist Italy, Stalinist Soviet Union, Vietnam, the Cultural Revolution China, study the ways of life in these country's and then you will see how bad it can be

Can you put your education on hold for a couple of years? You will be able to answer that based solely on your life experience.

let me put it this way it would suck big time.

An example of one would be North Korea.

Bad bad ahh ahhh ohhhhhh.

We're getting there in the US. You'll find out in a few years depending on how the midterm elections go.
