What the government should do about environmental issues?

Question Details: What government should have done/still needs to do to reduce the danger in environmental devastation?

A government can only do what is within its power to do:

1. The Building Code must change within the next five years to reflect that the 100 year storm will be the 10 year storm.

2. The infrastructure must be built to support green forms of energy

3. Stop giving tax free gas to airlines, give them tax free hydrogen.

4. Use grants to fill in the financial gaps to make green technologies and products viable.

The less the government does about anything, the better for all of us.

We need Elites which behave like Leaders. We need experts and we need intelligent people - by that I mean, people who even know how to spell the word.

I think the best thing to do is to educate people about the environmental problems facing the nation at the moment. I don't think the answer is more government regulation, although a small amount would probably help.

Overall the best way to solve any problem like global warming is to get the public educated and willing to spend their money to solve it. Then private industry takes over and viola! Problem solved.
