What will our government do to promote having children in our country?

LIke most people, my boyfriend and I would love to have a baby someday. But the system in Canada gives us pause. Raising a child in this country is extremely expensive, and Canada does little to make this process easier. It would be much cheaper to facilitate this process for existing citizens instead of allowing so many immigrants to come into our country. What is the government doing to answer to the needs of the Canadians who are here, proud, and excited to bring new life into our country?

If you can't afford to look after a child, don't have children. There are too many people on this planet as it is.

And as for not letting immigrants in - immigrants are cheaper. They already have skills, can be taxed, and don't need an expensive education, unlike children.

It is expensive to bring up a child in any rich nation. Why should the government have to pay because you are selfishly wanting to bring into the world a child you can't really afford to looks after? Why should everyone else's taxes be wasted on that?

Well from everything I have heard its easier there than in the US. The government pays your hospital bills which cost thousand here. Raising a child is expensive in any modern country, but all the research I have seen shows its much cheaper to have a child in Canada.

Sounds like waiting until you are financially stable enough to have a child is your best bet. Don't plan on governmental incentives to bail you out of a tough spot, either.

Nothing, as the population of Earth is reaching unsustainable levels already. If anything governments will be discouraging having children in the decades to come.

Do you need the government to encourage you to have sex? Or do you just need some instruction?

free health care and food stamps it is working like crazy in America for the illegals .
