How does a socialist government come into power?

Or, how is a socialist government formed?

I've tried a couple sites and can't really pin point a clear answer.

If anyone knows, or has any links with information regarding this.

It's for my English class, we have to research three types of governments.

By force or by subversion. The Russian Revolution was by both. The revolution against the czar was supposed to be the "peoples revolution" but surprise, the next leaders were far worse. Communism (actually socialism) was then spread by force in wars and revolutions. Backed by Russia at that time.

In europe and America it grows by subversion. Socialism is the consequence of success. Too many people with too much time and money on their hands. The have nots blame the haves and overtime the haves (through guilt) start to give to the have nots. It gets worse. Freedom to think and speak are crushed. People who are liberals will shout you down if you disagree.

There was a time when people had to devote most of their time to survival. Now that we have so much time an money we can waste them on other "warm fuzzy" things. We are told we are wrong and slowly over time we start to believe it. So now we have riots over gay rights, protests over the military and wars and PETA. )I do not endorse cruelty to animals but that is not what they stand for).

So, many voted for a candidate that wants to spread the wealth, give universal health care and take away all that made this country great.

They get elected.

Socialist leaning governments have been elected Britain, Sweden, France. They are not pure Socialist, but USA is not pure Capitalist.

Most governments in the west sit somewhere along the line between moderate socialism and moderate capitalism. They are probably closer politically than the labels they claim to be.

I think you are about to see one being formed, what with Pelosi and Reid in charge of Congress, Obama in charge of the presidency, and eventually a liberal-oriented Supreme Court.

It comes about by such lawmakers, executives, and judges passing socialistic laws (and yes, our Supreme Court DOES legislate from the bench).

By the way - if you want to really light a fire under your (most likely liberal) teacher's rear-end, do a report on republics vs. democracies, and point out to him or her that ours is a Republic (assuming you are in the USA, that is).

Through electing someone blindly that has a past that shows their ideology's. They first start by taking away your freedoms so you can not fight back. Then they make you so dependent on the government for everything ie. healthcare, raising your taxes and the effect snowballs. . .

Some have come into power through election, like Hitler, and others through revolution, like the Bolsheviks.

In nearly every case I've seen, election and peaceful policy change. Usually either consented or demanded by the people.

Take the former soviet union that was started be a revolution.

By electing a guy named Barrack Obama.

Google the Fabian society.
