What do you think of this philosophy about government?

Police negotiators will try to talk a person out of suicide, if they get the chance (If they are called on). Conservative politicians will make it illegal for euthanasia (doctor-assisted suicide), and jail a person for doing it, but the government cannot guarantee the happiness of its citizens, monetarily, socially, or otherwise. A person who is single and wants to be married cannot ask the government for any kind of effective help in this. So, what gives the government the right to prevent a miserable citizen from having a pleasant death? If euthanasia were legal, and a legal business (not just for the chronically ill), there might be less crime, because miserable people wouldn't be forced to live. Your thoughts? How is it OK for the government to keep us from a pleasant, deliberate demise, when they won't even help us with what we need?

You ask an odd question of ethics. On one hand it's ok to euthanize an animal but not a person because it's against the law for humans, thus if it's illegal why do we do it to pets? But if its illegal and you kill yourself, you sure aren't going to be arrested or anything so really they can't stop you from doing it physically only with the mental threat that its illegal and you will probably be committed from an institution if you failed to die.

Death cannot be ordered by any person and not even the government if natural law is followed. Only God can take away life and not a man.

I agree. I personally believe euthanasia should be legal. We live in a cynical world and country that resents helping the weak, the sick, the less fortunate. Yet we do not give them the power to end their suffrage.

I think the government should let anyone of "sound mind" kill themself. People who are depressed are not of sound mind. Depression is an illness. If a person is going to die anyways , no harm in a little hospitalization at-least to give them a chance, once they're dead it won't matter anyway. They can always die later, can only live now.

If you really want to kill yourself.....do it yourself. To answer your question more directly........i don't think too much of your philosophy.
