What does the government have to gain from illegal aliens?

It seems the government is hesitant to enforce laws against illegal immigrants. What do they have to gain from allowing them? What's holding them back?

It's not government directly, it's actually corporations and their lobbyists, selling us out to the lowest bidders, to increase profits in the short term. If America falls, they can just move, we won't be able to afford to.

The government is controlled by corporate interests, who want to maintain that steady supply of cheap labor and the increased spending power of even those in poverty.

cheap labor

what's holding them back: corporations who want the cheap labor

They are a great source of votes for the democratic party. And before you argue it's illegal for them to vote remember it is illegal for them to be here at all but they are. The democratic motto"Vote early and often"

Corporations give big campaign donations and they exploit cheap labor. If they enforce the law the donations get cut off. Simple.

government gains nothing , so who does?

I don't know what! They are costing taxpayers BILLIONS of dollars and we don't get that much benefit from them!

Some undocumented workers work at a regular job. Their employer pays into social security and medicare for them and they deduct for income tax. When these folks leave, they don't file for social security nor file for a refund of taxes. The government gets to keep the money.

Sure, not every worker is like that. But some are. You'd have to ask IRS about people who pay taxes and don't file.

That's one way the government gains from these folks.

There are laws already on the books limiting immigration. What is missing is the money to enforce these laws. Want a National Guardsman elbow-to-elbow with a Border Patroller along the southern border? Sure. Want to *pay* for that??

Laws only work if you can enforce them. What keeps society moving is a common social inclination to obey laws. Take away or limit the ability to enforce those laws, and you have a situation like LA after the Watts riots- if there are 100,000 looters and 100 cops to catch 'em, what's to keep everyone from becoming a looter?

Well, looting is reprehensible. But how about just sneaking into this country to improve your life? I don't think you'll stop illegal border crossing until you 1) spend a lot more money to enforce it or 2) spend a lot of money to decrease the demand.

I don't have all the answers. Hope this helps.
