What is the name of government agency who controls the overall organization of the US business cycle?

Which government agency controls the overall organization of the US business cycle? They do things like monitor the expansion and contraction of the economy, etc. Do you know the name of the agency?

Could be the Federal Reserve you're thinking of. They do their best to dampen the swings of the business cycle by adjusting the Prime interest rate.

Then there's the Bureau of Economic Analysis http://www.bea.gov/ and the Bureau of Labor Statistics http://www.bls.gov/
