When we get the government to help by which the comman man will directly benefit?

The Individual Tax Rates are so high plus the Government levies tax even at a drop of a hat!

The government seems to just find ways and means to make revenue even at the cost of snatching away the Hard earned money of the comman man!Inflation is peaking and hidden! Public Transportation costs are the higest there are no subsidies available at all!

When will all this change for the comman man?

Just how is it that you would want the government to help the common man? Is it that you think you pay too much in income taxes or do you think that the government should have some program by which you would directly benefit?

If you are single and self-employed then maybe you are paying too much in taxes because, the tax law favors working single parents, middle class working families, investors and the rich. Some people would argue that these people need to be favored because they are barely getting by or because they provide the capital to start businesses that provide jobs. I don’t know about you but I have had small children and was barely able to get by and I have never asked a poor man for a job.

Should someone who is making $25,000 a year subsidize someone who is retired with investment and pension income of $50,000 a year because part of their social security isn’t taxable? Shouldn’t someone like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet pay more dollars and a higher percentage of their income in taxes to subsidize the single working parent who only makes $15,000? These are questions we need to ask.

If you think that there should be some program for you, there probably already is. Are you a veteran who has used the GI bill or a guaranteed home loan? Are you a collage student who has used a Guaranteed Student Loan or Pell Grant? Have you ever been on Welfare or Food Stamps? Have your savings or checking in a bank that is guaranteed by the FDIC? What about a mortgage loan guaranteed by the FHA, Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac? What about enjoying the security of your local Fire and Police departments, or the freedom you enjoy because the US Army is there to protect you from all enemies foreign and domestic?

You are right about one thing; the only thing fair about taxes is the “fair market value” of the things you own so that you can pay taxes on your profit. The real problem with this country is that nobody wants to pay their taxes and everybody thinks somebody else should pay for the things we all enjoy. I can’t count the times somebody has sat down at my desk and wanted to know how they can stop that levy on their social security check when the reason why they have been levied is because they haven’t paid their social security taxes; or someone wanting to know how they can get the earned income credit when they don’t have a job; or the person who wants to know how they can fix it so their child can qualify for financial aid because they make a very good wage.

I don't know why someone in Hell's Bells, Montana should be subsidizing the fare that stockbrokers pay to ride the New York City subways to their $500,000 jobs.
