Why does the Government seem to reward bad behavior and irresponsible decisions?

Example A--If a lady making 20K/year decides to have 6 kids, why does the government give her more and more money (welfare, food stamps, medicaid.....)? Isn't rewarding bad decisions and irresponsible behavior. Why would the government take money from the hands of the people that worked for it and give to people that have proven themselves to be irresponsible?

You can apply it to almost everything the government does.

As Bill Clinton once said: "The Government knows how to spend your money better then you do."

If this make you mad, you are a conservative, if you want mommy to take care of you you are a liberal!

Agreed. I was listening to this poor sobstory, lady saying she was going to go back to school with govt money, create a better life, but that she had to quit cause she did not have the damn gas money to get there. Next question, "how many kids do you have" answer SIX, question: where is the father/what kind of support does he provide? answer: NONE! None cause big daddy Governement is taking care of her. This is the biggest bunch of crap I have heard. grrrrrrrr

yes it is. thats just the nature of government. stealing from someone and giving it to another. it causes resentment and doesnt even do what it attempted to accomplish. just causes more problems. thats why i think most of the government should be eliminated

I think it goes back to Roosevelt who signed a law which said that single, unwed mothers didn't have to work, and the more children they had out of wedlock, the more money they received. Is that insanity or what?

Government doesn't seem to reward, it does reward. The simple reason is that politicians can buy the votes of the deadbeats with other people's money.

One reason WHY we desperately need smaller Government.

Why does the government steal from the poor to give to the rich?

I think most people in the US went to k-12 on the taxpayer dole. They didn't pay for it!

And if we follow your logic, why are people who don't have children penalized, while those with children are given tax-breaks and write-offs. That cuts across lines, but especially the "middle Class"!

When you consider that 1/2 of American taxpayers (including joint returns, make less than $30,000.

Why is Boeing , who commits fraud, still getting government contracts? "Boeing Pays Record $615 Million to End Fraud Charges

By CATHERINE TOMASKO, ESQ., Andrews Publications Staff Writer

Boeing Co. has agreed to pay the government a total of $615 million to settle allegations over its use of rival Lockheed Martin's confidential information to win rocket launch contracts and the hiring of an Air Force official while she was overseeing federal contract awards.

The June 30 settlement, which resolves civil and criminal allegations, is the largest ever paid in a federal procurement fraud matter, according to the Justice Department.

The $615 million sum includes a $565 million civil settlement and a $50 million criminal penalty.

The settlement arose from a federal investigation into Boeing's participation in the Air Force's "evolved expendable launch vehicle" rocket program and the company's hiring of government official Darlene Druyun and her family members.

The government claimed that Boeing improperly obtained more than 22,000 pages of documents containing trade secrets and confidential proprietary information belonging to Lockheed, its rival in the EELV program. Boeing used the information to gain an advantage and win most of the EELV contracts, the Air Force said."http://news.public.findlaw.com/and...

Who do you work for? Boeing, Grumman, a defense contractor. If you do you are on corporate welfare so you don't have a lot of room to complain about others.

I would love to see yopur statistics of women with 6 kids earning under $20,000! (By the way, that is what YOU are paying her.)

Fact is:

She is Employed:

79% of custodial single mothers are gainfully employed

50% work full time, year round

29% work part-time or part-year

92% of custodial single fathers are gainfully employed

74% work full time, year round

18% work part-time or part-year

She and Her Children Do Not Live in Poverty:

27.7% of custodial single mothers and their children live in poverty

11.1% of custodial single fathers and their children live in poverty

She Does Not Receive Public Assistance:

31% of all single parents receive public assistance

Only 6% of single parents receive TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)

She is 40 Years Old or Older:

37.7% of custodial mothers are 40 years old or older

She is Raising One Child:

56% of custodial mothers are raising one child from the absent parent

44% have two or more children living with them"

I also wonder, did you give back your $300.00 per child you received from the government to infuse the market, which didn't work as most paid bills with it!

By the way, a woman earning $20,000 a year does not get "Welfare", which doesn't even exist any more!
